New Tyler album out in 2015? Yes please.Īfter a few mixtapes about nothing, Wale is finally taking the next step and working with the legend himself on making the Album About Nothing. Many people either dismissed Wolf because it wasn’t the edgy follow-up that everyone had been hoping for, or just didn’t think Tyler had anything interesting to say, but in fact he did, and he goes even further with it on Diaper. When a song by the name of Diaper was uploaded to his tumblr, Tyler, The Creator came back out of the gates with a reminder that he still holds a lot of skill as a rapper and producer. Word of a collaboration with Danny Brown is also going to be interesting to hear if it ever sees the light of day. They’ve been saying for a few years that they had new music and an album on the way, but the newest thing they’ve put out was “Cowboy Overflow Of The Heart” with David Berman contributing some spoken word. Obligatory adding of the Avalanches onto the list. Dre. I just hope that the years of shadowboxing with himself come around and makes one of the best rap albums of 2015 As the last ever musical guest on the Colbert Report, Lamar unveiled a new untitled song which brings back more memories of Funkadelic than of Dr. The song was an infectious groove with lyrics that actually promoted positivity. When Kendrick shared his song “i,” it was the first new solo music from Kendrick we had heard in a long time. Let’s just sum this up with another picture… If Abel drops anything that even remotely brings him back to the glory days of Trilogy, I will be perfectly content for another year, but if he drops another Or Nah, I will be jumping off of the nearest/highest cliff because it will only be then that he has truly failed me. Hell, The Avalanches have been doing that for about 10 years now, and Dr. Amy Winehouse is dead, and quite honestly there’s no one else with as much soul as you, so we’ve been looking to you to be our soul-pop saviour, but come on, even Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West have teased us with songs to give us an idea of what their new projects MIGHT sound like… We’ve heard nothing aside from a general tweet saying 25 was supposed to be out this year. Now, I could go on and on with a paragraph about why this last disc may or may not become the band’s magnum opus, but let’s just look at this pic of MC Ride…Īdele, we’ve been waiting for 4 years now. The second disc of their “final” LP The Powers That B was originally supposed to be released in 2014, but alas, Jenny Death has yet to come out, so we’re left with Niggas On The Moon and the music video to Inanimate Sensation Yes, some of 2014’s “anticipated releases” will roll over, but we aren’t any less hyped because of them. As the first year of Soapbox Magazine comes to a close, we want to look into the future and talk about what we here believe are the top 10 most anticipated releases of 2015.
